Andrew E. Sassaman, O.D.

Dr. Andy Sassaman is an Optometrist at Northwest Eye, practicing general optometry, including contact lens fitting and the treatment of ocular pathology. He has been an active member of Northwest Eye’s respected team of doctors for two years.

Dr. Sassaman earned his undergraduate degree from Luther College. He completed his doctoral studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and went on to complete clinical rotations in private practice and with the Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA and Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Sassaman is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Minnesota State Board of Optometry.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Sassaman enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Kari and keeping up with his young son. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoys vegetable gardening and camping.

Dr. Sassaman was drawn to the field of optometry and Northwest Eye by a desire to become a trusted resource in people and families’ lives for the long term versus merely being an eye care provider. His favorite part about working at Northwest Eye is the sense of collegiality – a team of doctors working toward a common goal of providing the best possible care to their patients. He believes the tremendous sense of pride in the work they do comes through as they work with their patients.

Dr. Sassaman sees patients at the Elk River and Rogers Northwest Eye locations.
