Daniel K. Day, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and partner at Northwest Eye. He has been a member of Northwest Eye’s respected team of doctors since 1984.

Dr. Day completed his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Iowa. After an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., he served as an instructor of Internal Medicine. He then decided to pursue a career in ophthalmology, and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Day is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (www.aao.org), Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology (www.mneyemd.org, for which he serves on the board of directors), Minnesota Medical Association, and Twin Cities Medical Society. He is currently a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

Inspired by his own eye doctor as a child, Dr. Day most enjoys working with his gifted colleagues and patients at Northwest Eye. He enjoys the ability to make a difference in the vision health and overall quality of life of his patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Day enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife of 37 years and their four grown children, as well as bicycling, tennis, and hiking. A true Minnesota, he is also a big Twins baseball fan.

Dr. Day retired from surgical practice in 2009 after 25 years in the operating room, and now continues to actively practice medical ophthalmology. He sees patients at our Plymouth and Robbinsdale Northwest Eye locations.
