Advanced Custom LASIK

Custom LASIK (or Wavefront LASIK) allows your surgeon to precisely tailor the procedure to your eyes and treat corneal problems traditional LASIK can’t. By creating a detailed 3D map of your eyes, your surgeon will create a custom plan to treat "higher-order aberrations" (complicated visual imperfections that affect your vision).

Custom LASIK Procedure

First, your surgeon creates a 3D image of your cornea with a special light and the Wavefront sensor. With this information, your surgeon prepares your cornea as they would for a traditional LASIK procedure. Unlike traditional LASIK, your surgeon re-shapes your cornea based on its unique shape provided by the 3D image of your eye. The entire procedure takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Recovery

After the procedure, your surgeon will inspect your eyes and review at-home care with you. Your eyes should heal quickly, but you’ll need to use special care to make sure they healing properly. We’ll schedule an appointment the day after your procedure to follow-up.

Results

You should be able to return to work within a day of the procedure, and see results in a couple of days.

Like any surgery, Custom LASIK has risks and varying results. Your surgeon will explain and discuss these with you and answer any questions you have before your procedure.
